NJM Bank is committed to providing you with a secure Online Banking experience. As part of our Information Security Awareness program we want to remind you that as a user of our Online Banking system, it is vitally important that you always take precautions to safeguard your personal information. In order to help you protect your personal financial information, we wanted to alert you that we have been made aware that fraudulent e-mails have recently been received by individuals and companies nationwide with the Subject Line “ACH transaction rejected”. This e-mail appears to be originating from ‘NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association’, telling the recipient that an ACH may have been recently cancelled. This e-mail includes an attached “report file” that contains malware as well as links to fraudulent webpages. The web link likely contains a virus/malicious software.
You will never receive an e-mail directly from NACHA, as an individual consumer, so please do not open the message. Instead, delete it from your inbox. In addition, the FDIC, Federal Reserve, IRS, or any government or banking agency, or other financial institutions including credit and debit card companies will never e-mail you directly asking about your financial relationships or personal information that should always remain confidential.
We at NJM Bank take your security and confidentiality very seriously. We will NEVER ask you for account information, login credentials, or your passwords via e-mail or telephone.
Scammers and fraudsters continually create new ways to attempt to get your confidential personal and financial information and to steal your hard-earned assets. We need our customers to have constant vigilance to make sure that these criminals are not successful.
